Your emotional and physical well being are very important to us at South Jersey Fertility Center.  We offer referrals for counseling, nutrition, acupuncture, Yoga, massage and meditation to augment your treatment.  Below is some information on these services and their importance to a successful outcome.

Infertility Counseling

We currently have an Infertility Counseling Program through Pressman and Associates.  Their office is located 10 minutes from South Jersey Fertility Center’s Marlton Office and provides a private and confidential setting for those seeking support.  Their services include: 

• Individual and couples counseling
• Group infertility counseling
• Biofeedback and hypnotherapy for stress management
• Diagnostic evaluation for egg donor cycles

They offer a variety of programs to help women and couples through the challenges of infertility treatment. Some of the programs have been:

• Dealing with disappointment such as a negative pregnancy test
• Developing coping skills to reduce stress during infertility treatment
• Talking to family and friends about infertility treatment
• Managing social obligations that require being around children
• Handling changes in sexual intimacy during infertility treatment

In addition, there are periodic educational sessions on managing the emotional aspects of infertilty treatment at South Jersey Fertility Center and are free to our patients.

Nutrition

Mary Ellen DiMatteo, RD is a board registered dietician.  She is available to help you make life style changes for a balanced nutritional life.  She offers a free nutritional program to our patients, in addition to detailed programs or one-on-one counseling for a fee.  The programs that are being offered are posted in our offices.  The programs are held in our Marlton office; however, you may contact Mary Ellen directly to arrange a one-on-one counseling session.

Acupuncture

Today there is growing evidence in medical research confirming that acupuncture has a positive impact on fertility.  It has been shown to help regulate menstrual cycles, reduce stress and anxiety, increase energy and improve blood flow to the pelvic organs.  Acupuncture treatments are designed to benefit each individual patient in a customized manor.  Our referral list of acupuncturists are licensed and experienced in female and male infertility.

Yoga, Massage and Meditation

Barbara “Ted” Piotrowski,  a Board Certified Holistic Registered Nurse, brings Greater Harmony to the mind, body and spirit as she offers her skill in meditation, Reiki, Yoga and Shiatsu. 

Meditation is a powerful mental and neurological tool to still the mind allowing it to become focused and calm.  Through meditation you will learn how to influence the senses, body, breath, and mind to build inner strength for balanced living.

Reiki is gentle yet powerful technique that promotes balance among the body’s systems and the normal regenerative processes of the body and mind.  “Ted” routinely follows a series of hand positions to areas where discomfort and balance is needed.  While results vary, most people experience deep relaxation.
